Where language meets art, and stories find their voice.
Author of the novel Mina Remains and the novella Milad Tower, and translator of Persian fiction and poetry into English, including Hene-na by Hasan Shirdel. Born in Babol, Iran, in 1985; writes in Persian; lives and works in London.
A working life lived between languages, disciplines and forms.
Neek Azizi is a novelist, poet, artist, researcher and teacher whose work moves across the borders of literature, performance, and visual culture. Born in Babol, in northern Iran, in 1985, he writes in Persian and lives and works in London. His novel Mina Remains and his novella Milad Tower were both written in Persian and published in English.
With deep roots in Persian language and storytelling, Neek builds bridges between traditions — crafting educational materials, literary works, and creative projects that speak to both heritage and the contemporary world.
As an educator, Neek has developed Persian language curricula for non-native learners, served as a Principal Examiner for major international examination boards, and teaches creative writing and contemporary fiction to international students of Persian language, culture and literature in the United Kingdom and the United States. As an artist, the work extends into film, theatre, music, and visual art — each medium a different register of the same creative voice.
Novels, stories, poems and literary translations, made with care for language and reader.
Neek published his first short story at the age of seven and his first poem as a university student, but for many years he wrote with little interest in publishing. After moving to London he gathered nearly two decades of work — novels, stories, poems and song lyrics — sorted and revised it, and began releasing it one book at a time. Some of these novels and stories took more than six years to write. More titles are now in preparation, including a collection of his poems and song lyrics.
